When traveling to Toronto internationally, you will arrive at Toronto Pearson Airport.  There are several options to get to your hotel. Uber/Lyft both work well in Toronto, so you can use your already set up account. Taxi's are also easily identifiable from any terminal upon exiting the baggage areas. You may have to queue, but there is usually an attendant to point you in the right direction. Several taxi companies will allow you to reserve a car in advance and will give you instructions on how to get the car on arrival:

Toronto also has a commuter train service from Pearson to Union Station in the heart of downtown called UPExpress.  A round trip usually costs about $25.00 CAD or $12.50 CAD for a one-way fare.  You can purchase a ticket in advance on the above link or use your debit/credit card before boarding.

Public transport

Toronto offers a comprehensive public transportation system, primarily operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), which includes subways, streetcars, and buses, making it easy to navigate the city. You can use the trip planner found in the link above or download one of the transit apps like TripLinx or City Mapper.

You can pay using:

  • Cash ($3.35 per trip)
  • Debit/Credit Card ($3.35)
  • Presto Card ($3.30 per trip with a 2hr ride window with on / off privileges)
